Description:
Situated at the western tip of Gran Canaria, the valley of La Aldea is the most remote part of the island with difficult access by road to the northern ports, airport and capital city. It is also one of the driest parts of the island with very little annual rainfall, it is however one of the most productive agricultural areas principally for Banana and tomato, this owing to the large number of aquifers in this area. The covered areas are to protect the agricultural products from the wind, since this is also a very windy area. This view is looking to the south to the Hogarzales mountains.
