Description:
The Common octopus (Octopus vulgaris) is very common in the shallower waters from 1 to 50 metres depth during the summer and autumn, where it makes its home in small cracks or holes in the rocks. During the winter and spring it tends to move to deeper waters. Although a potent predator, it is often curious and even playful at times and never shows any aggression to divers. If it feels threatened it will react by expulsing clouds if ink.
